A great day was had by all with fabulous weather and a brilliantly organised One Day Event!
We had three mini teams with our Class 1 Cowdray Stars coming a magnificent 4th and Class 2 Cowdray Golden Girls coming a brilliant 5th in a highly competitive class. Our Cowdray Diamonds were very unlucky to have a couple of eliminations which was such a shame as everyone was doing so well after the dressage and Show Jumping phase - there was lots to be proud about and there will be plenty of opportunities coming up to show how brilliant you all are!!
Class 1
Individually Lucy Griffiths did a stunning dressage of 25.8 and achieved first place and best dressage in her arena,Tori Voller achieved the second best dressage and was placed 2nd overall in her arena and Georgie Jackson came a creditable 4th place in her arena too. Luciana Carballo managed a really super dressage test and a double clear to come 5th in her arena and Polly Hodd also completed a lovely dressage and double clear to come 7th in her arena. A special mention should be made about Sophia Elliott who competed as an individual and came a creditable 8th with a super dressage but unfortunately picked up a few faults in cross country. Well done everybody!
Cowdray Stars - Lucy Griffiths, Georgie Jackson, Ella Evans, and Polly Hodd - 4th placed team
Cowdray Diamonds - Kitty Godman-Dorington, Ollie Shone, Tori Voller and Charlie Jeffery
Class 2
Christi and Shannon showed their usual flair in dressage and managed a stunning test with four faults in show jumping and a lovely clear cross country resulting in 4th place in her arena, Jemima Taylor also did a super dressage test and a lovely double clear and came joint 6th in a hotly contested arena. Poor Issy who completed a lovely dressage and a faultless showjumping round then got deposited in the dust on the cross country round - thankfully she was fine and Beano enjoyed his unassisted gallop back to the trailers! Well done to Chloe Fairston and Sofia Abramovich who entered as individuals - the wonderful partnership of Chloe and Minty achieved a super dressage and a magnificent double clear to come 4th in her arena and Sofia did really well at her first ODE with a good score that she should be very happy with.
Cowdray Golden Girls - Issy Jackson, Christi Radkiewicz, Ellie Thorman and Jemima Taylor - 5th placed team
Class 3
Mixed results for our class 3 girls with poor Celeste having to withdraw just before her dressage test because Lucky was looking a bit sore in his hind leg, the dressage judge was very understanding and said she must be complimented on her turnout as it was obvious that she had made a real effort! It was then left to Zoe Jackson and Freya Walker to compete individually as Emily Bristowe was unable to attend. Zoe did a really super dressage and a lovely show jumping round but picked up four faults and unfortunately picked up a few penalties on the cross country round - but it is a lovely partnership and very early days at this level - so well done Zoe. Freya also managed a lovely dressage but unfortunately was eliminated in the show jumping - it was a jolly testing course - better luck next time!
