SUCCESS AT CHID PC HT AT FAIROAK
The mini mini’s were out in force last Sunday 12.6.11 at Fair-oak. It was their first ever Official Horse Trials for our mini mini team;
Tia R, Shannon, Georgie Dugan, Brie, Honeysuckle Hodd, Bluebell and Holly Fletcher, Marius
And how wonderfully they all rode! The weather was not on their side and the show jumps were bigger than expected and they also had to ride the XC in the back field!! Honey and Georgie finishing on their dressage scores, Tia having a fantastic dressage finished a mighty 5th and Holly stepping in for her sister who had broken her hand! So, a fantastic start to their eventing season, WELL DONE GIRLS, please send in any photos that you have!

The COWDRAY COMETS, mini team WON THEIR CLASS…….. HOORAHY!!
The team consisted of
Kitty Godman-Dorrington, Holly
Tori Voller, Poppy
Polly Hodd, Ella
Lucy Griffiths, Parsley

They all rode fantastic dressage tests, all starting to see how the hard work pays off for practicing the dressage phase!
Tori won her section on her dressage score of 25!  Lucy came 3rd in her section on dressage score of 36.3.  Polly finished on her dressage score

Kitty had a couple of stops in the XC at the spooky blue barrels, but remained calm yet determined!  I also would like to say how well they all rode in the Show jumping phase, it was proving to be quite a testing course and each rider rose to the occasion and didn’t take any chances.
There was also some individual members, Issy Lush on Oskar who came 4th and Imogen Krens on her new young horse Echo, Chloe Fairston on Minty and Grace Frankham on Jester. Well done girls forSporting the Cowdray Hunt XC colours it was great to see you all flying round!
Any photos will be brilliant, so send them into Pippa Thorman who will kindly put them on the web site.

HICKSTEAD SHOW JUMPING - 7TH AUGUST 2011
Our Mini team were brilliant on Saturday 7th August at Hickstead. They arrived at 7am bleary eyed but excited. They quickly tacked up and rode to their ring. They had a very tight schedule as they had to walk the course (both for their class and the clear round) get a clear round which started at 8am before their class started (2nd team to go) at 8.30! They all behaved impeccably and were a real credit to Cowdray – so calm and collected.
They all went clear in the clear round which was a great start and they were thrilled with their Hickstead rosettes!
In their class Kitty and Holly were 1st in and rode a lovely, text book clear round. Then followed Tori and Poppy who again had a lovely clear round. Ella and Timmy were next and they were going beautifully until Timmy took exception to the white filler boards at fence number 5, he flew it at the second attempt and the rest of the round was perfect – very frustrating for Ella. The pressure was on then for Polly, riding a very excited Ella but, again, keeping exceptionally calm they flew round clear to take us through to the 2nd round.
The ground was very slippery (there were quite a few nasty tumbles) and the class of 29 teams took over 3 ½ hours before we got to the jump off! There were 8 teams who had gone clear and Tori and Poppy were nominated as the timed pair for our team who, as it was drawn order, had the daunting task of going first. Eventually after a few false starts she calmly went in and rode a perfect round in what would normally have been a fast time taking a brave turn which we weren’t sure was possible given the ground! Kitty and Polly were next and they too rode clear again with lovely rounds each. It was nail biting stuff but and there were some amazingly super fast pocket rocket ponies who were obviously complete experts at this level. After another long, long wait we finally heard that our Mini Team came 4th overall!!
