It’s that time of year again and application forms for a place at the Easter Clinic are now available. It is the first big gathering of the year – a great opportunity for everyone to meet up and get going again after the winter. The aim is to have fun whilst learning whether you want to compete or just improve your standard of riding. The instruction is always excellent covering flatwork, show jumping and cross country and the clinic is open to all members from mushrooms through to seniors but riders must be cantering confidently off the lead rein and able to jump 2’ or above.
Like last year, the rides will be divided to mirror competition classes. Please use the guideline below and state the level at which you wish to train on the booking form.
Mushrooms 2’ – 2’3” (0.60m-0.70m)
Minis 2’5”- 2’8” (0.75m-0.80m)
Novice 2’11”-3’1” (0.90m-0.95m)
Intermediate 3’3”-3’5” (1.0m-1.05m)
Open 3’6”+ (1.10m +)
The first two days will be held at the Pony Club field at Halfway Bridge where members will receive training in flatwork, grid work and show jumping and each ride will have 1 and ½ hours training in the morning and 1 and ½ hours in the afternoon. The third day will be two hours of cross country schooling. The day and venue will vary according to groups as detailed below:
Mushrooms will stay at the pony club field on Wednesday 4th and school over our own fences
Minis will go to Coombelands on Thursday 5th
Novice, Intermediate and Open will go to Tweseldown on Wednesday 4th
The cost for Easter Clinic will be £50 for mushroom groups and £90 for all other groups
No one will be allowed to jump without back protectors and medical arm bands so please make sure that you bring them each day. Please don’t forget your picnics (and drinks).
